Keiji Takeuchi
Keiji Takeuchi nació en Fukuoka, Japón, y pasó gran parte de su juventud en Nueva Zelanda. Estudió con una beca en la ENSCI/Les Ateliers de París y, tras obtener un título en diseño de producto en Nueva Zelanda, regresó a Japón para trabajar con Naoto Fukasawa. En 2012 se trasladó a Milán y en 2015 fundó su propio estudio de diseño. Al año siguiente recibió el Japanese Young Talent Award otorgado por Elle Decor Japan.
La visión de diseño de Takeuchi es profundamente internacional y multicultural, centrada en la esencialidad y en la calidad humana de los productos, creando un diálogo natural entre los objetos y la vida cotidiana. Su enfoque sin fronteras lo ha llevado a colaborar con numerosas marcas internacionales, entre ellas MillerKnoll (EE. UU.), Fredericia (Dinamarca), Nine (Reino Unido), Boffi De Padova (Italia), Karimoku (Japón), así como a asumir la dirección artística de la marca aru.
Ha participado en proyectos como Social Seating en la 1.ª Bienal de Arte y Diseño de Fiskars (2019), expuso en Stars of Today en Superstudio durante el Salone del Mobile 2023 y fue comisario de Walking Sticks & Canes en la Triennale Milano durante la Milan Design Week 2024, su primera exposición como comisario. La muestra recibió reconocimiento internacional y ya ha viajado a espacios como Karimoku Commons Tokyo y Emeco House en Venice, California, con nuevas itinerancias previstas. Recientemente, coescribió el libro Walking Sticks junto a Marco Sammicheli, publicado por Lars Müller Publishers.
