Iroko is a wood with numerous properties: besides its remarkable resistance to external stress and extreme conditions, it is characteristically manageable and easy to work. Its iridescent reflections are extraordinary. The chromatic nature of the younger wood varies from a strong yellow with shades of gold, to yellow brown, shades which tend to darken with age reaching an elegant final result with light-dark variagations. Commonly known as an “oily wood” due to its high resistance to water and humidity, iroko has excellent durability because its strength guarantees stability, solidity and resistance to distortion.
